I have the honour of introducing you to a phenomenal woman who KNOWS bridal dresses and has the best taste! Claire, owner of Love In Lace has kindly answered some questions, and you can really get a sense of her style and the AMAZING wedding dresses she has displayed in her beautiful store.
I have worked with Claire many times on wonderful projects such as a printed feature in Wedding Ideas which was shot in France, and beautiful boho shoots in England. Her dresses are so stunning ( I wish I had taken a browse in Love In Lace when I was getting married!) and their Instagram is truly inspiring.

welcome and thank you for being a guest on the blog.
Please tell me how you began your journey into the wedding dress world and how you have developed your style along the way?
I began my career in fashion buying for global retailers but had always wanted to run my own business. When I got married in 2017 I fell in love with the wedding industry, and dreamt of having my own bridal shop. My dreams came true last March, when after years of research, work experience and passion brought Love in Lace to life. I knew I wanted to fill a gap in our local market and use my background in following trends to create a business specifically for the modern and style conscious bride. The style credentials in terms of designers we stock and types of dresses we buy have gone from strength to strength as we have learned lessons, grown and met lots of lovely brides!
Had you done anything before moving into the wedding industry?
All I have ever known is retail and fashion. I have worked in both menswear and ladieswear but have always loved all things feminine and beautiful when it comes to clothing.
What fuels your passion for making bridal dresses?
I source brands from all over the world to bring together a collection of modern, unique and contemporary brands. I am inspired and enthused by new trends, beautiful imagery, and ultimately, happy brides!
What would you say is your signature style?
Modern, stylish, and lux
What colour palettes do you love?
Tones of nude and blush do really well in terms of bridal wear. But for weddings in general, I am currently loving peachy tones with accents of green white and gold!
What do you love most about your job?
Finding beautiful dresses for our brides, seeing the joy when they say ‘yes to the dress’ and getting sent their amazing pictures where it all comes together. I also love working with amazing wedding professionals and the creative people in the industry on photoshoots and other projects.
Can you tell me about your process and how you help brides find their perfect dress?
We want brides to express their own style. We start by looking at what catches their eye, then we focus on shape, and finally detail. We accessorise the brides look with veils and headpieces so they can imagine it all coming together!
Describe your dream wedding to style a bride for?
Many of our brides marry outside. so I would love to plan a beautiful outdoor wedding with alfresco dining, amazing details and finishing touches, hundreds of flowers. and of course, incredible outfits.
What can brides to be expect at a dress fitting?
Expect the unexpected! Brides often end up choosing something they never dreamed of! At LIL, you can also expect appointments to be fun, relaxed and to hopefully inspire you!
What questions should your clients be asking you before booking your services?
All information is on our website, but we recommend that brides really do their research on brands we stock, and the style of our modern dresses, We are not your average bridal store!
Do you have any tips for couples getting married and planning their weddings and finding a dress that excites them?
Be true to yourself, budget carefully, and have no regrets! Lastly, have fun and enjoy the creative process.
Whose wedding would you love to plan and dress for a wedding?
I would plan my own again! I have made so many connections in the industry since opening, I would love to pull together a team of some of the amazing people I’ve met (& have several outfit changes!)
What is your hair and makeup style that you love seeing your dresses paired with?
Relaxed-glam! For example; tousled hair, and glowing makeup!
What projects do you have coming up that you are excited about?
We have a new brand launching and more photoshoots in the pipeline! Bring it on!
